How it works

We assess it. Our first instinct is always to refurbish: most Herman Miller chairs can be brought back and used for years more.

You choose what happens next. For most people that is simply a collection date.
Your options
- Free collection and rehoming. The easy option: we collect across London, the chair goes through our workshop, and it gets used again instead of skipped.
- Trade-in credit. Put your old chair towards one of our refurbished chairs or a repair.
- An offer. Where a chair has resale value we may make one. The photo decides.
- Donation. If you would rather give it on, we can help arrange a donation, for example to a furniture-collecting charity such as the British Heart Foundation, or to local hospitals and community organisations.
Do not bin it
An office chair is mostly aluminium and engineering, and landfill is the worst possible ending for it. Even a chair that cannot be saved whole can donate its parts so that other chairs live on. If yours is about to go by the bins, send the photo first. Worst case, we collect it and nothing goes to waste.

What happens to a broken chair?
It goes through our workshop. If it can be rebuilt, it is refurbished and rehomed. If not, its good parts keep other chairs running. Either way it stays out of landfill.
Which chairs do you take?
Herman Miller task chairs first: Aeron, Mirra, Embody and similar. Ask about Steelcase and Humanscale, it depends on the chair.
Will you pay for my chair?
Sometimes. Where a chair has resale value we may make an offer or trade-in credit, and where it does not we can still collect it or help you donate it. The photo decides, and we will tell you which it is straight away, no obligation.
