What a Capisco repair involves
The Capisco is a sit-stand chair, and that shows up in its most common fault. Many Capiscos run a taller gas cylinder than a standard task chair so the seat can reach perching and standing heights, and when that cylinder's seal goes, the chair stops holding height exactly like any other, it just has further to sink. The fix is the same component-level job we do every day: the old cylinder comes out, and a replacement matched to the chair's taper, stroke length and the person sitting in it goes in, so the full sit-stand range comes back rather than just desk height.
The rest of the chair follows the same logic. The tilt mechanism is stripped, cleaned, re-greased and re-torqued where it's sound, and replaced with the correct unit where a housing or spring has genuinely failed. Adjustment controls that won't hold (seat height, seat depth, back height) are wear parts to renew, not a reason to write the chair off. Castors are swapped as a set with the right wheel for your flooring, and footring or base issues are checked while the chair is apart.
The saddle seat is the part people assume can't be fixed. On the upholstered Capisco, worn or split covers can be re-covered and flattened foam renewed to the correct density, so the seat supports a perching posture the way it was designed to. The Capisco Puls, with its plastic shell and separate seat pad, is handled part by part in the same way, only the failed piece is replaced.
